The Star Online is similar to the newspaper version but with faster updates in shorter versions. With this, The Star would provide better reading pleasure among Internet readers that follows the trend. Naughton (2006, p.3) mentioned that people predict that newsprint will be wipe out once the Web comes.

The Star also created Facebook and Twitter accounts to update the viewers about the latest news which benefit the readers as they could read them instantly rather than waiting for newspaper another day. Naughton (2006, p.6) agreed as internet makes people more knowledgeable and better informed with alarming resources.

With the help of Facebook and Twitter, an increase in the freedom of speech and interactions occur among the audience compared to newspapers. Political campaigns in Malaysia also are done online for easier access among Malaysians. Kahn & Kellner (2004, p.88) stated that internet plays a role to inform others and construct new social and political relations.
